As a solution to increasing traffic crowd the Provincial Government of Bali is planning to build new alternative road network connecting districts in Bali. “We have a complete master-plan on development of the new road network, which will be implemented gradually based on funding availability and sense of urgency” claimed Wayan Subagiarta, the Head of Provincial Planning Bureau in an interview conducted in Denpasar.
He added that included in the plan are widening the existing road connecting Denpasar and the tourism attraction of Tanah Lot in Tabanan district, and new direct road connecting Beringkit in Badung district with Batuan in Gianyar district.
Development of the new roads toward the Eastern areas of Bali is also intended to minimize traffic density inside the suburb areas around Denpasar. “Development of the new alternative road network has been planned since quite a while, but yet to be realized for various reasons”, Subagiarta added. Implementation of the plan will be in gradual phased according to funding availability both from the Provnicial Government as well as from the central government in Jakarta. “Completed alternative road network in the Southern suburb has successfully improve traffic crowds”.
