The crowd made by sidewalk trader is among the most prominent problem during the first one week of the one full month event of the 30th Bali Arts Festival. The organizer is expected to at least carefully select the type of products sold, and prohibit those with noises which potentially affect concentration of performing artists as well as indulgence of the audience.
Another problem which remains exist after three decades is group of performers who do not appear on the stage as scheduled on both the schedule board of the venue as well as the published visitor’s guide book. During the first one week, there were at least two groups from other province canceled their performance. Furthermore the organizer has not announced the such cancellation to the press who assist in spreading the information.
Whilst it may seems as a set back, the idea thrown by the Head of Bali’s Cultural Agency Drs. I Nyoman Nakayana, M.M. to not include groups from other province and foreign country in the official schedule could be a solution, as by experience, cancellation mostly made by those groups. Instead of getting anger curses from the audience, it may helps organizer to eliminate escaped schedules. On the other hand the organizer is still required to update the schedule board available at the venue as soon as the priorly un-scheduled group confirm their participation, therefore press still can pass the such information on.
Finally Bali Post reported that the organizer has failed to properly manage its public relation function to utilize any possible chance to widen up promotion of the event. Instead of maintain close cooperation, the organizer’s PR operatives tend to put a barrier with the press, who potentially help them in widely spreading updates of the event.
