The two wheels horse carriage locally known as dokar which has been traditional transportation mode for centuries deserves to get special attention. Whilst it may not as effective as modern vehicles like motorcycle or car, dokar is perfect vehicle to enjoy sightseeing trip. Correspond to City Tour campaign initiated by the Mayor office of Denpasar, dokar has to be preserved.

These days dokars are still in use as both passengers and merchandise transport especially around Badung Market, the main traditional market of Denpasar. Occasionally tourists hire them for sightseeing around Denpasar old town. Open and slow speed may be the main reasons for being favorite sightseeing ride in addition to complement the views, looking around Denpasar old town on old traditional carriage.

Unfortunately number of dokar which are still operating has been continuously decreasing. More and more visitor to the market prefer speedy cars or motorbike, whilst the number of tourists usage for sightseeing is rather limited.

The new City Tour campaign in effort to bring more tourists into the city may help to bring more business. In addition to dressing up the city including pedestrian restoration and building better parking area, special space for dokar close to parking areas is also essential. Tourist transporters can park at the parking area where tourists will change into dokar to look around and possibly stop at interesting places like Kumbasari Market, fabric market of Jalan Sulawesi, Puputan Square, Temple, Puri Satria palace, bird market, and the Museum.
