In response to increasing number of visiting tourists, police force of Denpasar is expected to increase security measures especially along the most popular tourists concentration area of Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak. Member of the House of Representative of Badung Regency, I Wayan Puspa Negara explained that increasing security measures includes stationing police officers in central points starting from the entrance of Kuta toward Legian and Seminyak.
He expressed his appreciation to police initiative by conducting security checks on Jalan Patih Jelantik, the main entrance to Kuta area. He expected that the operation to be intensified to filter out possible threat coming through the main entryway connecting Denpasar, Airport, and other areas of Bali to Kuta and its surrounding areas of Legian and Seminyak.
He also expected police to apply strict law enforcement to illegally operating car and motorbike rentals. He envisaged that those rental agencies have been too easy to let vehicles rented out without knowing the original intention of their customers. “Do not let vehicles too easily rented out without knowing their usage intention. There are chance that customer would use it for negative intention. We have to prevent the previous tragedies repeated”, said Puspa.
