Robbers initiating their action by deflating tire of victim’s vehicle which quite frequently take place in Denpasar has now spread to Singaraja, an old town on the north coast about three hours drive from Denpasar. After similar robbery took place in Denpasar the day before, on Wednesday (August 13th) Luh Sri Kusuma (28 years old), a resident of Penuktukan village, Tejakula, North Bali, had became a victim of robbery on Jalan Ahmad Yani in Singaraja downtown after the robber deflate tire of her car. The victim has lost 76 millions Rupiah in the incident.
The incident started when the victim accompanied by her brother Made Agus Kurniawan (25 years old) withdrew 75 millions rupiah in cash at BCA Singaraja. Leaving the bank they drove their Suzuki APV to their Toko Adi Karya at Anturan village, North Bali to settle payment of building materials they purchased before. Feeling something unusual with his car, Agus pulled his car aside Jalan Ahmad Yani in front of Toko Rela II. Finding one of the tire deflated, he got off to replace it. At the same moment the robber took the money in the car and got away.
In addition to 75 million Rupiah withdrawn from the bank, the robber also took away a purse with one million rupiah in cash and a number of important documents. The incident happened so quick that no witness saw it in detail.
The victim reported to the nearest police office immediately after the incident. “I was not sure the person who actually took the bag, but I saw two men riding Scorpio (a Yamaha motorcycle) getting away in rush, one of the wore a helmet and the other did not”, Agus explained in his police report. Interviewed by Bali Post, the public relation officer of Buleleng police headquarter Police Commissioner I Made Sudiarsa confirmed the reported incident of robbery initiated by tire deflation, which currently under investigation by the criminal squad of Buleleng police. It was likely that the victim has been watched by the robber who knew that they were withdrawing a large sum of money.
