Barbara Tucker Shoke Bali

Enthusiasts of house music in Bali was entertained by Marlboro through Marlboro Lights Sundaze in Soul Heaven  performed at Blue Point, Uluwatu on Sunday (August 17th), which was corresponded to Indonesian independence day. In the event, house music enthusiasts witnessed the performance of Barbara Tucker, whose face should not be strange to fans of this music genre.

Barbara is a legend whose deserved to be categorized as a diva in the genre. Originated from New York, USA, Barbara was the one who introduced dance music soul, specific strain of the genre which is not only focus on loudness. “The melody is a lot more chill and soulful compared to full house” explained the music director of the event, Ade Ferdian, who was appointed by Marlboro to conduct the event.

Ade told that in addition to Barbara, Sundaze which has been also conducted in Jakarta has brought in 2,500 lovers of the genre as well as famous British DJ, Aaron Ross. In the event held at Uluwatu, lovers of electronic dance music was taken to enjoy a different concept. Conducted at a stage opening out to the ocean, Marlboro Lights Sundaze in Soul Heaven presented a fresh new concept.

Aaron is a DJ with enormous flight hours in worldwide shows, and prior to Bali has just conduct a show in Dubai. Aaron explained that soul is actually a different strain of house music, and has a strength to chill out audiences and other positive sides not available in other kinds of music. For his collaboration with Barbara, Aaron said that it was actually the third after their previous collaborations in Spain and Miami.

Regional Marketing Manager of PT HM Sampoerna Bali Nusra – the brand holder on Marlboro in the country – Baringin Simanjuntak explained that the event started at 4PM and ended at 11.30PM was actually an expression of their commitment to entertain Marlboro customers. “Target audience of the show was adults, which is the same as Marlboro target market”, he said.

By conducting performance of international musicians, Baringin explained that Marlboro was trying to strengthen its market positioning as international brand with international flavor.
