Two German citizens was found dead in their hotel room at Baturiti, a hillside resorts near Bedugul, Tabanan. The corpses of Paterlik Ana Marie (22 years old) and Berg Muller Matthias Reinhard (24 years old) arrived at Sanglah Hospital on Saturday (August 23rd) night at about 20.45 accompanied by police officers from Baturiti police station. Both corpses whose known as students went through autopsy immediately upon their arrival.

Head of the hospital’s forensic services unit dr. Dudut Rustyadi, Sp.F. explained that there was no evidences of physical violences found in the autopsy which was started at 21.20 and completed at 23.00 Bali local time. “There was minor scratch found on the upper arm of the male corpse, but it was not a material would and definitely would not led to death”, Dudit explained further.

Without presence of physical evidence whilst the death was sudden and at similar time, further investigation required including anatomy and toxicology  tests.  Dudit said that it was predicted that the deaths were caused by poison and therefore further laboratory examination shall take place. “Samples have been taken and delivered to laboratory. Result shall come within the next couple of weeks”, Dudit continued.

Meanwhile after the first autopsy both corpses were stored at the hospital’s morgue.
