Garuda Indonesia aircraft Boeing B737-400 with flight number GA254 serving Yohyakarta – Denpasar route had a technical problem in its left main wheel. The incident was detected during post flight inspection immediately after the aircraft with registration identification PK GZI has just landed at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport on Tuesday (October 28th) night at 22.17 local time.

General Manager of Garuda Indonesia’s branch in Denpasar Bagus Y. Siregar admitted that Garuda Indonesia aircraft has had a technical problem before taxiing to the apron. However he denied that the landing wheel was broken. “No it was not broken, it was just a technical problem, the left rear wheel was locked,” said Bagus when asked for confirmation by Bali Post reporter.

Bagus further explained that techician spotted the problem after all passengers were disembarked and the aircraft would pe pulled away from the apron. At that time the wheel was locked. He assured that the incident has not affected the passengers. He also assured that the incident was not affect flight schedules.

Until yesterday night the aircraft remain parked at Ngurah Rai airport. The headquarter of Garuda Indonesia in Jakarta has sent nine technicians with replacement parts to fix the problem. All techicians were arived yesterday afternoon at about 17.00. “Hopefully tomorrow (today) the aircraft could be back in operation,” said Bagus.
