Denpasar Police Chief Senior Commissioner I Gede Alit Widana reminded everybody to be more alerted on security obtrusion. “Closing to scheduled execution of Amrozi and his terrorist fellows everybody is expected to increase alertness,” said Gede Alit in the inauguration ceremony of new vest for the uniform of security guards in the tourist resort of Sanur yesterday (October 17th) at the office of Sanur Development Foundation (YPS).

He further explained that police has allocated more force to ensure security in the island especially to anticipate potential security threats closing to execution of the Bali bomb spectators. Additionally police has also increase security measures in various special operation involving special police force. However involvement of all residents of Bali is expected to endorse even better security assurance.

He expressed his support in usage of special vest introduced by YPS to be used by all security guards of hotels and other business entities in Sanur. Easily identifiable bright color with illumination at night will help to improve their service in security both in the company perimeter where they are employed as well as in the neighborhood. ” We welcome innititive of YPS in taking positive action to give secure feeling for both tourists and residents in Sanur,” said Putu Alit who also said that police has also ordered 400 pieces of the same vest.

Chairman of YPS Ida Bagus Sidarta Putra in the event said that the univorm vest usage program for security guards in Sanur area is an expression of YPS intention to give better feeling of secured to both residence of Sanur as well as tourists visiting the area. “Our target is security guards of hotels and other companies operating in Sanur, said Sidarta Putra.

There are approximately 45 companies operating in Sanur which employ security guards. Only a part of them are involved in the program. At the innitial stage there are 70 vests used by security guards employed by companies operating in Sanur. “Our target of this program is 150 vests,” he continued.

In his opinion residents and tourists will feel more secured with the program which has just been introduced. If there are more easily identifiable security guards, good people will feel more comfortable whilst criminals will think twice to proceed with their action. “We expect there will be a security guards in easily identifiable uniform in every some ten meters of distace,” he continued.
