The Regent of Badung Anak Agung Gde Agung, S.H. fully supports the world convention of tourist guide which will be held in Bali on January 2009. The Regent expressed his support when the organizing committee of the 13th World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations Convention (WTFGA) on Thursday (November 20th 2008) visited him at his office.
The Regent also expressed his appreciation to the effort made by HPI in convincing WFTGA that Badung Regency is a suitable place to hold the event which is scheduled to take place between 11th and 16th January 2009. “The event will be participated by 300 tourist guides from 60 member countries,” said Nyoman Kandia as the chairman of the organizing committee of the event and also chairman of HPI.
The regent also took the opportunity to remind the organizing committee to do their best ini preparing the event to ensure its success. He understand the importance of the event as tourist guides are actually the front-liner of tourism industry. Their service immediately represent the image of the destinations themselves. In respomse HPI is keen to support the agenda of Badung Regency in diversifying its tourism attractions by introducing new potentials.
The Regent admires HPI for their success in gathering their tourist guides from all over the world to come down to Bali despite of worsening global financial crisis. It is actually a good way in increasing tourist arrivals to the country. Badung Regency will be pleased to host the farewell gala dinner at Taman Ayun at the end of the event.
“During the event all invitees will also enjoy the attraction of tourism objects and rich cultural heritage of Bali, especially Badung regency which is also known as the regency with the second largest income in Indonesia,” said Kandia which is also promoted by a political party for legislator chair next year.
Accompanying Kandia ini his visit are Made Sukadana, Gusti Kompiang from HPI Bali and Suryaning from Melali Mice, the appointed event organizer.
