Being the wife of the first grade official in Bali, Mrs. Pastika takes a significant part in endorsing priority programs as the main focus of his husband’s administration, one of which is medical services for the poor. Mrs. Pastika expressed her emphaty to Khairul Arifin, a three years old boy from Jembrana, who is suffering for the advanced stadium of eye cancer, and now being hospitalized at Sanglah central hospital.

The story started when the couple Mariana and Jaimin has difficulty in covering medical expense for their only child. Mariana wrote a letter to Mrs. Pastika. In response, Mrs. Pastika brought in Tiara Dewata Group and a foreign resident Francois Pelletier to give their hands. 5 millions of money was then given to the family on Friday (January 16th).

“I received your letter, and here is some money from people who are concerned with your situation. I hope will ease your burden in getting medical assistance for your son,” said Mrs. Pastika. She also expected Mariana to be though getting through the current situation. “Keep on working hard and pray for your son’s recovery,” she added.

Mrs. Pastika hopes that there will be more people have emphaty to help those with similar situation as Mariana’s family. The government appreciates the help given by these donors in improving people’s health, especially the poor ones.

The President Director of Sanglah hospital, Lanang Rudiarta expressed his appreciation to the donors’ assistance and the emphaty of Mrs. Pastika in helping poor patients hospitalized at Sanglah.

With tear rolling on her cheeks Mariana thanked Mrs. Pastika for her help, which she accepted as a significant assistance, especially in her financial weakness.  Her husband who works as a transport laborer has only enough income for meal. The situation caused the problem of their child only identified after it gets to an advanced level.
