PHDI Supports Hindu Broadcasting Board

Presence of Hundu Broadcasting Board (BPH) is getting more important and therefore needs to be urgently realized. BPH is intended to control quality of Hundu programs conducted by various medium which is getting easier to established by latest technology innovations.

Head of Bali Provincial Office of the Minstry for Religion, Drs. IGAK Suthayasa, M.Si. in BPH Orientation Program taking place in Denpasar between March 13th and March 15th 2009. Suthayasa wisely responded people’s complain about insufficient quality of Hindu programs. Therefore he strongly belives that collaboration with BPH as the partner will ensure better quality.

Meanwhile the Director General of Hindu of the Ministry for Religion, Prof. Dr. IBG Yudha Triguna, M.S. in his speechs read by Director of Hindu Religion Drs. I Kt. Lancar, M.Si. stresses that BPH which will be positioned under All-Indonesian Hindu Dharma Board (PHDI) will get an authority to criticize, supervise, and control Hindu programs conducted by carious broadcasting media so the programs will have better quality.

Innovative breakthroughs are required to guide people’s behavior for better ethics and moral. Even in budget constrains, when formed, BPH will be directed to become self-sustainable, just like Balinese community who always fund construction of their temple and their religious ceremonies by themselves.

He further said that program content has to be carefully selected considering heterogeneous Hindu community in Indonesia. The content has to always promote local wisdom and ethic and properly consider source, substance, broadcasting method, format, and timing.

The meeting also discuss the expected future of Hindu. “We should know exactly what we want balanced by strategy, socialization and common perception in communal effort. When we have the gut to initiate we should have mature plan laid out. The plan should define the objectives elaborated in clear vision and mission in communal concepts. That way BPH can be formed and directed for its innitial intention, said IB Maya Marta, a participant attending the event.
