To maintain increase attractions, continuous promotion is essential in tourism industry. Therefore after colossal fire dance involving 5,000 dancers at Tanah Lot, international kite festival, and Tanah Lot 10K, the government of Tabanan regency is going to perform another spectacular event titled 2009 Cultural Parade. Confirmation about this plan was announced in a meeting of the organizing committee chaired by the Regent himself in his office.

Regent Adi Wiryatama in his directional speech tells the organizing committee that Tabanan will continuously perform spectacular event for the sake of tourism promotion, not only for Tabanan but also Bali as a whole. The event will also reflect the vision of Tabanan regency government to maintain synergy between agricultural development and tourism. Wiryatama also said that being a promotional event of Bali tourism, the Cultural Parade of Tabanan 2009 is also offering promotion opportunity for all regencies across the country. “We will invite all regents in Indonesia to participate”, he said.

Wiryatama further invited every stakeholders to support the event, especially artists as the frontliner of creativity. The event can also be considered as the warming up session towards the one month long annual Bali Cultural Festival 2009.

Head of Tabanan’s office for culture and tourism, I Wayan Diasa, said that Cultural Parade of Tabanan 2009 which will be performed for the first time will take place between May 30th to June 7th 2009 in the tourist area of Tanah Lot. In addition to maintain rich cultural heritage of Tabanan, the event is also intended to promote tourism attractions in the area through Tanah Lot. The event will perform at least 40 performnce involving more than 4,000 artists.
