Klungkung chapter of the Indonesian Hotels and Restaurants Institute (PHRI) is currently in unclear condition as there are no activities nor reorganization. The situation has brought immediate negative impact to coordination among hotels and restaurants operating in the area. Tourism components go their own ways with weak communication with local government.
Klungkung is the second regency in Bali which does not have active executive board of its PHRI after Tabanan. On the other hand the area is currently having quite rapid increase of tourism activities. Tourism objects are getting more visit both foreign and domestic tourists, not only the part of the regency in the mainland but also the smaller islands of Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan.

Head of Culture and Tourism Office of Klungkung, Nengah Wijana, admitted that few years back he was informed about the presence of PHRI Klungkung chaired by Ketut Oka Udiana. However he never had any information about regeneration of its management. “I have only heard about presence of PHRI in Klungkung, but never knew anything further”, he said.

Wijana expressed his wish that PHRI can reactivate itself so at least the government will have relevant partner to discuss about its policy on tourism development in the future, especially to promote better management of hotels and restaurants as their commercial success immediately affect local revenue. He also expecting for an organization to lead organization of festivals and other <a href=”http://www.balitoursonline.com”>Bali tours</a>ism events. Unfortunately Wijana said that he does not have enough time yet to think about PHRI as other activities are taking up all of his attention.
