Extension of Sapta Patala Hotel was suspected for violating land alocation regulation. From a hearing between Commission-A of the House of Representatives (DPRD) of Badung and the four owners pf Sapta Patala Hotel, revealed tha fact that the hotel is actually located in an area allocated for residential, which immediately mean violation to land allocation zoning plan (RTRK) of Kuta.
Strangefully owner of Sapta Patala Hotel, Wayan Wijana, said that expansion was made under suggestion of Badung Tourism Office. Later on Badung Tourism Office consider it as a miscommunication. For the time being both the government and the legislators can only confirm that they will take further investigation.

Owner of Hotel Sapta Patala, Wayan Wijana said the 110-rooms hotel development project under the management of The Best Western was started  back in 1970 and reveiced a license for 7 rooms rental house in 1984. At th moment construction is 90% underway.

He exposed the hotel as a reflection of Balinese traditional residence. He further informed that Badung Tourism Office and Badung Treasury Office has inspected the site, however license is not issued. Unfortunately head of Badung Tourism Office, I Made Subawa, said that the hotel is located in an area allocated for residential, so there is no way for his office to issue the license.

Chairman of DPRD Badung, I Gde Adnyana expressed his confusion on how such a large construction project can get along. He also admitted his confusion on finding a solution to prevent wasting the premise without violating regulation. “All I can say now is that we will investigate the issue”, he said.

Meanwhile head of administrative police (Satpol PP) Badung, I Wayan Adi Arnawa, informed that his office has called the management of Sapta Patala three times. His office has also suspended construction work.

As previously reported by local medias, Construction work of Hotel Sapta Patala is getting along without proper paperworks. After a sudden inspection, DPRD Badung called the owners for hearing.
