The ferry port of Gilimanuk has just introduced a breakthrough by starting a trial period of electronic ticketing system. President Director of PT Indonesia Ferry, Bambang Soerjanto expressed his confidence that the new system will be able to seal revenue leakage, as well as terminate illegal games played by irresponsible officials.

“At Merak ferry port the system has proven to be able to stop revenue leakage up to 30%”, Bambang said. Monitoring daily activities, it is obvious that passengers feel better comfort and security as there are no longer disturbance from crooks locally know as preman. Another positive impact of e-ticketing, as Bambang exposed, is assurance that there will be no longer incidents when illegal passengers enter the vessel, as the ticket also works as key to open the entryway to the vessel.

Being both ferry transportation provider as well as port operator, PT Indonesia Ferry has strong commitment to improve its service for passengers. The commitment is clearly expressed by its motto “Bangga Menyatukan Nusantara” (proud to unite the nation) embroidered on their uniform.

Another newly introduced value is that during the trip, passengers are getting five-star service by stewardesses. “Even those traveling in economy class will get five-star service from our stewardesses”, Bambang promoted.
