The temperature in Bali is increase the last few weeks. Meteorology, climatology and Geophysics Department of Bali urged people to get aware for the appearance of twister as the result of this climate change.

Before twister really happened, let’s us begin to learn and recognize what is twister and its symptom.

Twister is whirling wind is around 60-90 kilometer per hour speediness and goes through for five until ten minutes.

It caused by the huge differences in temperature within local area happened under or around cumulonimbus cloud (black pitch cloud).

According to the chief of Data and Information section of Meteorology, climatology and Geophysics department third area of Denpasar, Endro Tjahyono, twister has several previous symptoms such as:
1. Hot and sultry weather.
2. On the sky there is the development of cumulus cloud (white cloud gathering in layers).
3. On the sky there is cloud expansion from white into pitch black (cumulonimbus).
4. The twigs and the leaves shaken by the cold wind.
5. If this phenomenon happens, there is large probability that there will be rain along with hard wind.

Endro added that the occurring of twister until today cannot be predicted. It happens suddenly for five until ten minutes in totally local area.

“Twister’s whirling looks like elephant’s proboscis. This wind usually occur in the afternoon and tend to happen in flat area,” explained by Endro.
