Woods theft case in West Bali Forest area seems difficult to be eradicated. For the umpteenth time the police arrested again people who get caught cut down rosewood at the Blok Sumber Rejo forest area of Semberkelampok village Gerokgak District.

Chief of Public Relationship Polres Buleleng, Kompol I Made Sudirsa on Tuesday, December 22nd justified that illegal logging case. Citizen arrested was Gede Sutapa alias Gede Beton (56) from Sumberkelampok village of Gerokgak District. That citizen was caught cutting down rosewood when the police patrolled that forest area.

Sutapa then herded to Polsektif Gerokgak for intensive investigation. Whereas for the evidence goods, that is the woods were secured. For what he done, it cause the country loss Rp 700.000.

At Jembrana

Meanwhile, two people from Banjar Pangkung Languan Mekar, Yeh Sumbul were secured by Jembrana Fast-Attack Police on Monday, December 21st. Both of them were caught kept cempaga wood that has already been cut in various sizes.

Both of them arrested at their house after get caught kept tens of woods without complete document. At Gusti Putu Wardana’s (55) house the police secured 71 cutting Cempaga woods. Before they confessed that they were bought cheaply and never expected that the woods were part of illegal logging. By the suspect Wardana, the woods were cut according to the necessary size for the making of sanggah – Hindu’s altar – at his merajan – small shrine in each of Hindu’s people house –

Not far from Wardana house, the police also caught I Putu Sumantra (44) kept various size woods in his house. There are 83 frangipani woods without any legal document. Seen from its size it estimated that it came from long diameter wood. To the officer, the suspect also confessed that he bought it cheaply from Ketut Dana (46) who also the citizen of Dusun Languan Mekar Desa Yeh Sumbul, Mendoyo. That arrested was part of case study from the same case before that was from the suspect I Ketut Dana.

Kasat Reskrim Polres Jembrana – chief of detectives and criminals of Jembrana Police – AKP Ketut Suparta accompanied by KBO AKP Wayan Artika under the authorization of the Jembrana Area Police Head, AKBP R. Ahmad Nurwakhid on Tuesday, December 22nd justified that arrestment. Now, both suspects together with the evidences hundred of woods in various sizes were secured in Polres Jembrana. They entangled with Bill No. 41 1999 about forestry.
