Kuta Beach public space is continously decline due to the increasing of merchants that sickening Regent of Badung, AA Gde Agung. This number one man in Badung asserted that Kuta Beach needs re-organized its mess condition. Not only that, the Regent had threatened to withdraw the management of the beach that had been submitted to the Desa Adat Kuta.
As it is known, Kuta Beach is now packed with traders. Both souvenirs traders, meatballs, soft drinks, even Padang food traders. This condition makes Kuta Beach dirtier, moreover many of the traders throw waste carelessly.
Regent Gde Agung, Sunday (27/12) yesterday confirmed at Kuta Beach, the beach setting can be done better. There must be spacing area between those traders, so that public space can be guaranteed. “Unfortunately, if the management wouldn’t become better then the government could taking over that management from Desa Adat,” he said. He also added that the government could have pulled the authority to manage when Kuta Beach conditions still chaotic and if there is no change.
Meanwhile, Kuta Customary IGK Bendesa Sudira insisted that he had made arrangement related to Kuta Beach. In fact, he calls the parties questioned the merchants as people who know nothing and never come down to see the Kuta Beach by themselve. Sudira also stated that the report to the Regent related conditions Kuta Beach is lie.
Further, he said, his party has conducted several control. For example, merchants may not carry a stove and only allowed to bring goods and already serving foods. “Meanwhile, considering the number of traders, it has decreased from 1.300 merchants now only 1000 of them.
