Strong wind followed by high wave makes Kuta Beach in alert condition. Prohibition to swim put almost along the beach. Beside the weather, waste delivery from the ocean, keep shadowing this white sandy beach.

An observation at Kuta Beach on January 13th reported that since early in the morning there was already strong wind as well as high wave at the beach. The wave itself reach three meter in high, along with it was garbage delivery, which almost fulfill most of the areas along the coast. The majority of it was logs. According to the secretary of Balawista Kuta, Ketut Ipel, this bad weather condition make Balawista party standby to anticipate any emergency as far as put notice warn to concern about any kind of activities at the sea. “The weather is bad it makes us have to warn the visitors not to conduct activities at sea,” he said.

But he admitted that until today there is no addition to their personnel. Besides, a plan to fully close the activities at sea is not yet delivered. “We still give them only plea, however if it becoming worse then we will coordinate it again,” said Ipel.

Gets strengthen by the data from Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Department Territorial III Denpasar – Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi dan Geofisika (BMKG) – who remind the people and sailing operator to watch over against the increasing of wind speed and high wave. “Today, the speed of wind reach maximum 20 knot in other word is more than 35 kilometer per hour. People on land should watch over the fallen tree due to the wind strike,” said the officer of Data and Information Department Service BMKG Wilayah III Denpasar, Putu Lia Cahyani to Antara.

He said that for the wave nowadays at the south of Bali Island could reach more than three meter, meanwhile at Ketapang-Gilimanuk and Padangbali, it could reach two meters.

“That height is vulnerable and should watch over by the fisherman as well as ship operator. Moreover, it accompanied by high speed wind,” said Lia. Lia explained, generally Bali and Nusa Tenggara condition nowadays is entering rainy season. That’s why the it always cloudy with high intensity of light rain. Hard rain usually happened at night until early in the morning.

Furthermore, considering waste that starting flooding Kuta, the Head of Kuta Beach Official Unit, IGN Tresna said that he had coordinated with the unit beach cleaning unit and the traders to help the beach clean from any waste. “We had already anticipated this delivery waste with some tools and bleach cleaning personnel who had stand by early in the morning. But due to its amount it perhaps will be transported in the afternoon,” explained Tresna.

Tresna estimated the waste delivery will keep coming until a week later. “This have repeatedly happen and usually will take up to several week ahead,” said Tresna.
