Once again the Customs officer at Ngurah Rai airport confiscated two kilogram of shabu shabu at Ngurah Rai airport on Wednesday (January 20) in the evening. The drugs smuggler was two Malaysian citizens, Chang Cheng Weng (45) and Boo Guan teik (38).

According to the head of Ngurah Rai’s Customs office, Bambang Wahyudi, both suspects actually had come before into Bali in order to survey the security system at Ngurah Rai Airport.

Suspecting that the security in the airport was loose, they then come back once again to smuggle the drug. They came around 03.30 p.m.

“For the third time they came to Bali surveying our airport security system,” he said on Wednesday.

He explained that each of those drug couriers carried one-kilogram shabu shabu by wound it onto their waist as well as covered it with plastic.

From the beginning the officers had already suspicious when they went through the body scanner. But in order to prove it, the officer used more natural method that is pretend that he accidentally hit their waist bag and it feels hard. When they sure it was drugs then those two suspects eventually inquired corporally.

“There are two kilograms shabu shabu they carried and its valued almost two billion Rupiah,” he explained.

According to Bambang, the two suspects came with Cathay Pacific with flight number CX-785 from Hongkong.

In his statement, the two suspects confessed that they stayed in Hongkong before flied to Bali with the drugs adhered onto their waist. It supposed, soon they arrived in Bali, they has already been waited by the customer. If they succeed in this mission then both of them will be paid with 5.000 Dollar Hongkong.

Besides succeed in seized 2-kilogram shabu-shabu, there is also cash in total 4.300 Yuan, both passport also confiscated, each belong to Cheng Weng with A20609000 and Guan Teik A20610192.

“Those two will get snared with Bill number 113 section 1 and 2 UU No. 35 2009 with death sentence as its maximum penalty,” assessed Bambang.
