Balai Kemitraan Polisi dan Masyarakat (BKPM) – Police and Community Partnership Hall – that is a model project for Polri – Police of Indonesia Republic – and Japan Police term of cooperation that officially launched at the hometown of art, Ubud Gianyar Bali on Wednesday.

The inauguration marked with ribbon cutting by Kapolda Bali Irjen Pol. Sutisna with Major General Yamasaki Kiroto, as the delegation from Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) in Indonesia.

Kapolda Sutisna said that BKPM is located in at the building of Lurah Ubud complex office and was the second in Indonesia after Bekasi, West Java.

“Since it merely two of them in this country makes both of them as the sample project and hope for the same development in other regions in Indonesia,” he said.

Yamashaki Kiroto who also Kapolri adviser for Police and Japan cooperation mentioned that BKPM existence in Ubud far more complete and representative rather than what had been built in Bekasi.

Not merely concerning about its total equipment suits those in tourism area, but BKPM in Ubud also involves Polda Bali – Bali province police – from several squid unit.

“Those who are in Bekasi merely involve Binamitra members meanwhile BKPM Ubud besides involves Binamitra in it, this institution also involves traffic police and tourism police,” he said.

Besides, BKPM institution in Ubud also involve those who are not from Polri institution.

Kabid Humas Polda Bali Kombes Pol Gde Sugianyar added, that outside element involve in this BKPM are traditional officers or figures, interfaith leaders, tourism member, pecalang – traditional security – government officers and many other.

“So there is lot of figures fused together under BKPM institution that merely two in Indonesia,” he said.

BKPM works in community will prioritize an effort to prevent the possibility of hindrance appearance that could disturb people’s security and order, especially in Ubud as a tourism object known worldwide.

Besides, continued Sugianyar, BKPM existence also stand as a forum for the people communicate each other to solve varied problems appear so there will be no criminal event.

Sugianyar confessed that the birth of BKPM so far was by adopted Kaban institution in Japan. “Principally BKPM identical with that Kaban in Japan, that is an institution dedicated to community policing,” he said.

The existence of Kaban in Japan had been prove able to prevent every hindrance possibilities threatening people’s security and order and other law infringement in the community.

Present also in that BKPM inauguration was Gianyar Regent, Cok Ardana Oka Sukawati, some of Japan delegation, council member, figures from the local community as well as from tourism world.
