Provincial government, regional governments and capitol city government in Bali would not issue dispensation for vehicles passing by the road when Hindus in Bali fulfilling their Tapa Brata Penyepian welcoming Caka New Year 1932 on March 16th 2010.

“No special treatment for all who ride vehicles on Holy Day of Nyepi except for those who are urges to go to the hospital with recommendation letter from their Bendesa Adat – village official –” said the head of Publication and Documentation Division in Bali Provincial Public Relationship and Protocol Bureau, I Ketut Teneng at Denpasar.

He said that Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika far before had issued circularize letters considering the implementation of Nyepi Day to the civil institutions, TNI-Polri, private institutions, religious institutions and all bendesa adat in Bali.

Letter Number 003.2/22488/DPIK dated December 29th 2009 instructed all government institutions with public task on their shoulder such as hospital, firefighters, PT PLN – National Electricity Company – and Hotels to prepare their employees at work a day before up to the next day.

That will make Bali in silent, no transportation pass by on the road except pecalang – village security officials – who watch over their territory, said Ketut Teneng.

Hindu when fulfilling their Tapa Brata Penyepian conducting four taboos covers Amati Geni (no fire), Amati Karya (no work), Amati Lelungan (no traveling) and Amati Lelanguan (no indulgence in lust).

Although, ambulance car belong to General Central Hospital Sanglah Denpasar and other hospitals ambulance cars will keep stand by in their position on Nyepi day. Thus, to prevent and anticipating unwanted event taken place, said Ketut Teneng.

When Nyepi also, Ngurah Rai International Airport at Tuban, Badung Regency, will be closed for flight for 24 hours. As the twelfth time it was closed since 1999 with success rate at all times without any obstacle.

Similar with 40 crossing ships serve Bali sea with its two neighbors, East Java and Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) who would not operate like the usual days.

All fleet including transportation on land will be parked for 24 hours begin from 06.00 a.m. on March 16th 2010 until 06.00 a.m. the next day (March 17th) said Ketut Teneng.
