Bali Governor, Made Mangku Pastika inviting his people freed Bali from plastic waste, especially at beach areas that its condition gradually becomes worse.

“Let us together free the land from plastic waste so the island that is the center of international attention becomes clean and green Bali,” said Governor Pastika in Kuta Badung this Friday.

In the middle of Gerakan Perempuan Peduli Lingkungan – women’s movement for environmental care – Governor Pastika said that in order to realize clean and green Bali as well as maintaining the beauty of the beaches as our tourism object, his party through Badan Pemberdayaan Perempuan and Perlindungan Anak Provinsi Bali – empowerment of women and child protection Institution, Bali Province – will keep held women’s movement for environmental care.

Attended also in that event was Badung Vice Regent, I Ketut Sudikerta with his wife and numbers of Provincial and Badung SKPD heads of chiefs, head of North Kuta district, AA Rai Yuda Darma as well as public figures ofCanggu Village, Kuta.

The governor mentioned that environmental preservation is an effort to realizing their dreaming cleanliness and beauty in order to achieve “Bali Go Clean and Green” plan.

It is said that Bali recently becomes a location for varied of international meeting in concern with environmental care. “That is why we have realizing it, Bali that is green and clean,” he asserted.

In our daily life, Pastika continued, Balinese with Hindu as the majority religion, we had been thought about “Tri Hita Karana” that mentioned that we have to keep the balance between human and its environment. This, can be done through greening and cleaning our surrounding environment especially toward plastic waste considered as it is difficult to get merge with the land in a relatively short time.

“Through this step, we could always take part in an effort saving our earth from climate change,” he said.

Creating clean and green Bali, in its turn could give conformity for the people and the tourists visiting the island.

The governor wish for the greening and beach cleaning action could be done regularly together with people awareness from the local people to maintaining and preserving the trees planted.

Head of Badan Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak Provinsi Bali, Luh Putu Haryani added, the purpose of this activity is to emerge a culture to love the environment in every levels of society. Thus, she continued, could always create balance, preservation and cleanliness, especially at coastal area which keep fill with lots of waste.

“We need to do this in order to create green and clean Bali as well as maintaining the beauty of our beaches as the tourism object in this island,” she said.

This afternoon activity were followed by 400 participants from varied of Bali and Badung government SKPD, universities, women organizations, youth and corporate world as well as local citizen.

For about 500 trees such as frangipani, mango and other fruit trees planted at the beach area as part of that event.
