The development of superior coffee species promoting environmental friendly as for the use of organic fertilizer in Belantih Village, Bangli Regency, Bali, is now dedicated to become a tourism object.
“Whilst enjoying the natural scenery in the coffee plantation, hopefully foreign businessmen would consider to buy our environmental friendly coffee in a large number of order,” said head of Bali Public Relationship and Protocol Bureau of Publication and Documentation division, I Ketut Teneng in Denpasar, Friday. Through a provision for plantation tourism object, the tourists could always tainted to look closer its production process done by the local coffee farmers.
Those coffee farmers, which assembled in subak abian, Desa Lantih, Kintamani district, Bangli – farmer-assembling organization – already had the organic certificate so the coffee will be free from chemical.
Ketut Teneng also added, there are some foreign businessmen who visited the central of coffee development in Bali, in accordance with the local plantation agency idea to build number of coffee development centrals and 50 integrated agricultural development patterns becomes agro tourism objects based on integrating agriculture (Simantri).
“From those 50 locations, the most ready site for integrating agriculture tourism object is the area in Belantih village, Kintamani district of Bangli,” he said. Thus, Simantri tourism packet nowadays is under preparation by plantation agency, regencies/city in Bali as well as support from travel agency (ASITA) that take part in promoting the object to the tourists. This kind of pioneer is part of their way introducing environmental friendly tourism object alternative based on agriculture along with other main tourism objects known by international world.
Bali during 2009 had visited by 2.22 million tourists showed significant ascension for 13.27 percent compared with one year before that is only 1.97 million people.
