Shopping center at Kuta Square as an area mostly visited by tourists, on Thursday (April 22) yesterday morning was on fire. The fire destroyed three shops at the same time. Those three shops are Quicksilver, Oakley Authorized and Body & Soul, which sell branded goods at that complex. There is no victim in that tragedy.

But, it is certain that the owner of those three shops suffered material losses to hundred of million Rupiah. From the result of provisional investigation, the fire expected triggered by electrical short-circuiting.

Information at the scene mentioned that the fire firstly appeared on the third floor of Quicksilver at 08.00 a.m. when the employees get ready to open the shop suddenly the fire was blazing and burned the roof. Altogether, the employees and people at the scene scattered around. There were people who evacuated their stuffs and there were people who tried extinguish the fire with makeshift equipment.

The situation becoming uncertain when the fire getting bigger, moreover with the fire that starting to spread to other stores that was Oakley and Body & Soul. Not long ago, 15 units’ fire fighter cars from Badung and Denpasar arrived at the scene. The fire fighter move fast and straightly spraying the water rights into the fire. The firefighters also doing their best in isolating the fire not to spread even more.

Not only three shops get burned but another building that is Fuji Film almost get burned too. But the fire had successfully extinguished the fire. Thus, make that shopping center could not be open until yesterday evening.

Head of Kuta Sector Police, Dodi Prawira Negara when asked for confirmation stating that he does not know yet the cause of the fire. But, his party had mobilized identification officers from Denpasar Police Office and Forensic Lab officers from Mabes Polri Denpasar. “Our provisional estimation was electrical short circuit,” said head of sector police office, Dodi Prawira.
