Abandoned Lands Worrying Badung Government

Abandoned lands or sleeping lands in Badung become problem for Badung Regional Government. It is due to that abandoned lands could not have maximum function in term of economic and social point of view for the people’s welfare. Its existence also hard to be detected maximally.
Thus, as been confessed by Head of Bappeda and Litbang Badung Regency, Kompyang R. Swandika accompanied by the head of Agriculture, Plantation and Forestry Agency of Badung, I Gusti Made Agung, on Friday (May 14th) yesterday.
It is mentioned that from the economical point of view, another problem appears from abandoned land is the decreased of environment quality since it has not managed well. Especially of those lands formerly were productive lands or in other word good quality land. This abandoned land also feared could attract social conflict. “That kind of problems that we feared triggered by those abandoned lands,” Kompyang said.
When asked about abandoned lands in Badung, Gusti Made Agung confessed his party still could not receive the exact data yet. Moreover with the existences of those abandoned lands hard to classify including its unknown master. “Even the village member where that land stand also finds it’s hard to data abandoned land in their area,” Gusti Made Agung asserted.
Kompyang says, abandoned lands in Badung especially happened due to the investor whom did not carry development yet. That kind of investor is usually speculating at first or investigating the land. “We keep coordinating with related institutions, especially with the head of the village to conduct the data regarding abandoned land in Badung,” he said.
It is said that abandoned land in Badung could have functioned well by the owner. Moreover with nowadays local regulation No. 11 years 2010 about controlling and operating abandoned land. Even Badung regional government in this case will keep socialize that regulation especially for the investor. Hopefully, with the developed abandoned lands, people welfare could raise.
Gusti Made Agung stating that Badung Government itself could push the utilization of those abandoned lands. One of them is through encyclical letter from head of Bappeda and Litbang Badung urge for the people to coordinate with the owner of the sleeping land to give their land management for the local people. “So far there is people who conducted it. To utilize the abandoned land is an easy task. As long as there is a will from the land owner,” he said.
