Small industry sector produced by craftsmen and artists in Bali had becoming this region export backbone due to its popularity on foreign consumers. “Small industry product given quite significant contribution in raising Bali export rate,” said head of Publication and Documentation Division from Bali Public Relationship and Protocol, I Ketut Teneng, in Denpasar, Saturday (May 15). He said that small and household industry contributes more than 65 percent from Bali total export for around US $74.99 million during January-March 2010 period.

“It raise for 22.09 percent compare with the same period last year that was only US $61.42 million,” he said to Antara. Ketut Teneng said, household and small industry in Bali is develop up to the remote rural area and able to absorb 226.420 labors. Those labors are accommodate at 73.383 business units spread in 985 development centers, raised compared to 2008 that only could accommodate 220.973 labors.

He added that all of those small and household industries invested IDR 1.45 Billion. The development of household industry acknowledged facing toward capitalization, product quality and design.

“Bali provincial through its Industrial and Trading Agency conduct varied effort deals with that problems, among them are coaching, exercise, training and exhibition,” said Ketut Teneng.
