Tourism Object Retribution Raise 150 Percent

Gianyar provincial government through Tourism Agency had imposed retribution up to 150 percent tariff increase at six tourism objects. Tariff increase per 1 June 2010 attracts pro and contra especially with the tourism entrepreneurs.
Data from NusaBali received, on Wednesday (9 June) yesterday, the tariff retribution increase prevail at Tirta Empul Temple in Manukaya Village, Goa Gajah in Bedulu village, Kawi Mountain in Tampaksiring village, Gunung Kawi temple in Sebatu village Tegallang district, Yeh Pulu in Bedulu village Blahbatuh District. The tariff for those five tourism objects now Rp 15.000 for adult and Rp 7.500 for children.
Another tourism object raised its tariff is Bukit Jati in Samplangan village Gianyar, raised from Rp 6.000 into Rp 7.500 per person.
Head of LSM Barisan Pendukung Reformasi Rakyat Gianyar (BPRRG) Ngakan Ketut Putra says the tourism object tariff increase obviously shall followed by tourism object service quality increase, for instance is tourism object facilities that is too monotone and lack of proper concern. The same thing also delivered by one of Gianyar figure who complained the object service that is below the standard.
“Honestly, the tourism object management in Gianyar is so do not concern. For instance is the toilet, this is a small thing but has serious impact for the object image,” he said. Head of Gianyar Tourism Agency, Wayan Dirgayusa said that tariff retribution increase had in accordance with Regional Bill legalized by Gianyar Council. This escalation is the result of the increasing budget for tourism objects facilities maintenance and repairmen. The old tariff had valid for five years since 2005 so its need adaptation in 2010.
Dirgayusa is very optimist that the tariff increase will be followed with tourism service enhance as well, especially tourism object facilities repairmen and development. “Service escalation quality is our number one priority after this retribution tariff increase applied,” he said.
