Bali provincial government planned to held international cultural festival next year. This international festival is what they called an improvement from Bali cultural festival that routinely held since 32 years ago. This development conducted in order to realize Bali as world cultural center.

Head of Cultural Division for Bali Province, Ida Bagus Sedhawa stated at Art Centre (July 2) that this international cultural festival would not presenting Balinese culture only but also art and culture from various part of the world.

This would not attract cultural acculturation only but also trigger scientific study toward the cultural development between countries.

“How other countries confessed their culture in scientific way, and then we could compare it for our culture maintenance,” said Ida Bagus Sedhawa.

Head of Bali Cultural Agency Ida Bagus Sedhawa asserted that art and cultural development in Bali all this time is indeed went through quite rapid development. However, our biggest problem is weak data collecting for Balinese art and cultural legacy so it is not rare for Balinese artwork claimed by other country, moreover with lack of documentation toward Balinese artwork.
