Head of Bali Provincial Transportation, Communication and Information Agency, Made Santha said that the central government would give first phase assistance for public accommodation transport, trans Sarbagita (Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan) to the amount of 18 units.
“Central government has already prepared vehicles for Trans sarbagita planned will operate on November 2010,” he said in Denpasar, on Sunday.
He said that at first, the government planned to give 20 units of mini bus that could transport 28 people, but after thorough study, it would more effective if using transportation that could accommodate 40 people in this area.
“It is true that at first they would give us mini bus, but according to our examination, exactly we’ll need big bus than the small ones,” he said after the event of praying together at Semeru Agung Lumajang temple in East Java.
It is said that for the first phase of this vehicle operation will be prioritize for Nusa Dua direction in Badung Regency.
At this experimental phase, Nusa Dua would prioritize as commute transportation which will passed by numerous stations built before, he said.
At separated place, member of commission III Bali Council, Ida Bagus Gede Udiyana optimist that Sarbagita public transportation operation will solve traffic jam problem.
“I was optimist that this Sarbagita public transportation project operated on next November would reduce our traffic jam problem,” he said.
According to him, with public transportation concept that imitate Trans Jakarta, people who get to work, for instance from Gianyar to Denpasar or to Nusa Dua would not use their private vehicle anymore.
“This Sarbagita public transport also would offer affordable price and timely arrive at the destination place,” said this Golkar Sanur politician.
Besides, he said that those public transportations would stop at certain stops that has been determined first and they also would not stop long.
“We hope for local people could use this public accommodation in order to prevent them from using their private vehicle. I believe the people would reduce the use of their private accommodation so we could end the traffic jam problem,” he said.
