Tabanan Commit 1.095 Ton Fish Production

Tabanan Government commits to fulfill the target of 3.975-ton fish production in 2014 according to the contract with Ministry of Marine and Fishery.

Tabanan regent, Nyoman Adi Wiryatama, on Tuesday asserted that that target decided in order to support the vision from Ministry of Marine and Fishery, as to realize Indonesia become the biggest producer of marine and fishery product in 2015.

He hoped he could fulfill that fish production in accordance with the contract signed between Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika with Marine and Fishery Minister.

According to that contract also, it is expected that there will be cultural escalation around 353 percent during 2010-2014 period that is from 1.095 ton to 3.975 ton.

Hereafter, his party pushes over the development and escalation of freshwater fish commodity such as catfish, carp, tilapia and bream.

Regent Wiryatama is stating once again his commitment to open officially safari of catfish cultivation training at Balai Benih Ikan Pesiapan Tabanan.

That activity is part of Tabanan Marine and Fishery Agency and East Java Badan Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Perikanan (BPPP) – Fishery Education and Training Department – cooperation.

Tabanan Regency Government, Said Regent Wiryatama, will continuously give their high interest toward the development of marine and fishery considering its high natural resource potential in developing marine and fishery sector.

That big fishery potential is freshwater fish cultivation that all along developed mostly in irrigation tunnel, calm water pool, mina rice and net floating system.

According to Wiryatama regent, the fishery natural resource potential at his area is appropriate to develop catfish, carp, tilapia, bream, lobster, frog, and more.

“Some fish such as catfish, bream, carp and tilapia which production keep rising has become one of competitive commodity,” he explained.

Meanwhile, head of BPPP Banyuwangi, I Wayan Widera, A.Pi., M.Si., confessed the objective of Catfish Cultivation Training Safari for fish cultivator in order to add their knowledge, skill and fish cultivator behavior in order to develop cultivation technique development.

Training will conducts for a week starting from Tuesday (July 6) to Monday (July 12) or 56 hours training. “In this training, there will be speech, briefing, discussion and direct practice method,” said Wayan Widra.
