Three PLTG Operated Using Solar

Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) – National Electricity Company – recommended to Bali Governor to build gas port in Bali. The development of this gas port aim to make the gas supply getting easier as well as fulfilling the needs of 3 Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Gas (PLTG) – Gas Power Plants – in Bali.

General Manager PLN for Bali distribution, Dadan Kurnia Dipoera in his statement in Renon on Wednesday (July 7) explained the effect of that gas port in Bali caused 3 PLTG in Bali never receive gas supply. The condition that forces those PLTG operated using diesel.

“From 553 MW of energy, almost 300 MW of it supported by solar energy, thus make me recommended for the development of gas harbor to the governor,” said Dadan Kurnia Dipoera.

General Manager PLN for Bali Distribution, Dadan Kurnia, clarified that averagely to operating 3 PLTG in Bali which is used diesel, PLN has to spend almost 6 billion Rupiah per year to buy diesel. In fact, if they could used gas then there will be cost efficiency up to 50 percent.
