Martial art school in Buleleng Bali developed rapidly and now has reached 20 registered institutions under local Ikatan Pencak Silat Seluruh Indonesia (IPSI).
Head of IPSI Buleleng, Drs. Nyoman Serengen in Singaraja, on Friday explained that Buleleng can be said as the warehouse for martial warrior in Bali.
“Today, there are lot of martial art school in Buleleng such as pencak silat Sitembak, Depok Pancasona, Depok Persaudaraan, Situntun, Asidaci, Cinta Damai, Bhakti Negara, Panca Darma, Teratai Putih, Walet Putih, Putra Garuda, Cimande, Kompas, Setia Hati Terate, PP Suro, Perisai Diri, Jatayu, DarmaYuda as well as the newcomer Satria Muda Indonesia (SMI),” he said.
Although, he admitted that some of them is less active and remain with name only without any real activity. Thus, make IPSI Buleleng would inventoried their data.
Nyoman Serengen accompanied by his daily chief for IPSI Buleleng, I Nyoman Suasthawan explained, varied effort had been done in order to enliven that sleeping schools such as held numerous championship, referee and martial art master workshop, as far as bring trainer from PB IPSI.
This elder of inner energy school of Bambu Kuning acknowledged that people in IPSI organization comes from existed martial art schools today followed the fanaticism that gradually gone from those schools.
In order to welcoming Indonesian independent day on august 2010, IPSI Buleleng would held martial art competition among schools, both for teenager and adult.
“This championship also part of test event as well as a preparation for district sport weekend next November. This championship also held in order to observe how far does those schools could facing highest championship, in term of technique, physic and mental preparation,” said Nyoman Serengen.
As an initial step facing for the martial art competition, IPSI Buleleng board held meeting in Singaraja led by Nyoman Serengen.
