PHDI suggestion – Indonesian Hindu Dharma Association – for further review toward the removal of Dewa Ruci statue from Simpang Siur Kuta makes people among Bali Council offered new proposal. Commission III Bali Local Council offered for not to move Dewa Ruci but enough with elevating it higher than the fly over itself.
Member of Commission III Bali Council, Ida Bagus Gde Udiyana at Bali Council office on Monday (July 26), said the Detail Engineering Design (DED) was good already. It needs no further changing. “If removal is impossible then we’ll lift it up. The elevation itself did not against any existed cultural concept here in Bali. It means that the statue will be higher than the flyover and would not sink. Tri Hita Karana concept or the balance concept would still maintain. So the statue would not under the flyover,” Udiyana said.
“If we move the statue? You had seen the result; it is full of pro and contra. We thought that if we make further study then we absolutely would move backward. Meanwhile, the road targeted will be finished in 2012. If we make no progress that the target will not be achieved,” said this UNUD architecture department of Technique Faculty’s alumnus.
According to the data offered by Udayana, the concept of Simpang Siur-Dewa Ruci flyover have 5.1 meter of height from the road today. The gradient reached 40 percent. This flyover road construction will be made very slim without reduce its resistance. The road height then will be completed by road widening at Simpang Siur roundabout, that originally 125 meter will be widened to 340 meter. It will make vehicles passing by the road more freely. Simpang Siur flyover planned will begin from the south, precisely at Bypass Ngurah Rai to Denpasar (at the front of clothing outlets), pass over Dewa Ruci. It will down to the north part of Dewa Ruci, the road will be separated for around 50 meter from the statue.
What about PHDI? Udiyana says that the issue needs to be cleared by the governor through thorough discussion. “But we in Commission III Bali Council asked for the removal solution would not a dead price. We could use today’s technology; the statue can be lifted a little. About arrangement, it is not difficult at all since we could polish the base,” Udiyana said.
Meanwhile, head of Public Relationship division at Bali Provincial Public Relationship and Protocol Bureau, Ketut Teneng when confirmed separately mentioned that those religious figures suggestion would become executive further consideration to decide the flyover development program. Only if there is a proposal to sit together discussing it further, the provincial will be delighted to do that. “It is clear that the religious figures suggestions will be reviewed by the council. Which one is the better one and not stepped over religious and cultural concepts yet still could adopt the recent development. Perhaps it merely about the time of when we could do this discussion,” said Teneng.
