The plan for market and city area arrangement in Nusa Penida is not clear yet until today. In other hand, that plan is important to anticipating the clutter most likely to occur in the area. It is considering the increasingly easy access transportation from and to Nusa Penida that affected in the increasing of people population in that island. So as member of Klungkung Regional council tells us from Nusa Penida, Wayan Baru.

“Yes, I also feel it (the unrefined arrangement plan). Thus, we, together with the other council members come from Nusa Penida will keep watching over that plan, especially for market arrangement,” he said.

The arrangement not only need land expansion but also a location for waste disposition. It is due to the amount of traders who reach hundreds in number, make the probability of great waste volume will be high too. Meanwhile, Nusa Penida condition recently, that has no final waste disposition, makes lot of people throw their waste into the sea or merely let it scattered around at their farm. It certainly triggered pollution.
“Starting today the government should think about the location for final waste disposition. If it is needed, they also have to consider a location for composting site,” he said.

However, he added, the government has enough land of the State, especially at the coastal area very possible utilized as the final waste disposition or composting site. If compost processed in a professional way then practically we could sell it to the people who need it. “The most important thing now is the government act more selectively to propose ownership’s certificate to fulfill people request toward the land of the state,” said Baru. Plan for final waste disposition should be arranged not merely for the next five years ahead but through a thorough consideration concerning the people condition in the next 30 years ahead.

In relation with the market arrangement, Baru stated that the potential location is in Tain Besi, some meters away to the south of the market. This relocation conducted in order to reduce worsening traffic jam happened lately at the central city. The market arrangement will also synergize with final waste disposition site. Market, as the center of trading location, is identical with waste. At least in 2011 the arrangement has begun already. “That is why we will keep watching over it,” said that Gerindra party member.
