Celukan Bawang Harbor is opening a chance to equalize tourism sector development in Bali as it is following with the coming of “Seabourn Legend” cruise in this harbor. The harbor placed in Gerokgak District, Buleleng on Sunday (22/1). “The presence of this exclusive cruise is the part of tourism equalization in this island,” said Managing Director of Destination Asia Tour and Travel, Sedia Yasa, in Denpasar on Monday.

During this time, tourism sector is still centered in the southern side of Bali. It is around Denpasar, Badung. The coming of this cruise is bringing 212 tourists from Singapore while it wished also asserting a same chance for developing tourism sector in northern area of Bali. “Besides being part of tourism equalization, the coming of this cruise wished contributing for the prosperity of Buleleng people,” said Sedia Yasa.

Celukan Bawang Harbor at first was only functioned as a transit site for cargo ship. Currently PT Pelindo and Buleleng government developed it for the transit harbor of cruise. This effort then advanced this harbor facility by expanding the harbor into 250 meters-width. It is aiming to fulfill the international standard of cruise harbor. The presence of “Seaborn Legend” was welcoming by Buleleng Regent Putu Bagiada with his people and management team of PT Pelindo Celukan Bawang Branch.

The tourists were touring about 10 hours in this island including watching natural medicines making in the factory of Gede Ngurah Wididana or Pak Oles in Munduk Village. Then they continued going to Benoa Harbor, Denpasar and other destination in West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara. “It is being a good moment to promote tourism potential of northern areas in Bali,” said the Head of Tourism Division Buleleng Regency, I Putu Tastra Wijaya.
